The short version. LMS Overview runs inside your browser and reads your own Brightspace account with the login you already have. It keeps a short-lived cache in your browser. It has no server of its own, sends your course data nowhere, and does not track you.

What the extension reads

When you open the panel on a Brightspace page, the extension asks your college's Brightspace for the same information the Brightspace website shows you: your enrolments, grades, assignments and submission status, quizzes, discussions, announcements, calendar events and course content, including the text of HTML content pages. It reads only your own account. It never changes, submits or deletes anything.

Where it goes

Your college's Brightspace server receives the requests, exactly as it does when you click around the site yourself.
Your browser's local storage keeps a cache of what was loaded (refreshed every 10 minutes), your settings, hidden courses, and items you ticked as done. Clearing site data for Brightspace, or removing the extension, deletes it.
Chrome sync storage keeps your licence key and the list of Brightspace sites you enabled, so they follow you between browsers signed into the same Google account. Nothing about your courses is stored there.
Lemon Squeezy (api.lemonsqueezy.com) receives your licence key and a short device label such as “Chrome on macOS” when you activate, and periodically afterwards to confirm the key is still valid. No course data is included. Lemon Squeezy is also the payment provider; its own privacy policy covers the purchase.
Google Fonts serves the panel's typeface. Your browser requests the font file; Google's font privacy notes apply.

That is the complete list. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no account and no server run by us.

What stays on your computer

Everything the panel shows. Files you download or export go straight from Brightspace to your downloads folder. Calendar entries you add go to your own calendar. The “Diagnostics” text you can copy for support contains your college's Brightspace address, API version numbers and a count of failed requests; it contains no grades or personal details, and it is only shared if you paste it somewhere.

Desktop notifications

If you allow notifications, they are generated locally from the cached data. Nothing is sent to a notification service.

This website

lmsoverview.app is a static site hosted on Netlify. The theme switch is remembered in your browser's local storage. Netlify's privacy policy covers its server logs.

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and clicks on the "Add to Chrome" buttons, with IP addresses anonymised. Google's privacy policy applies to that data. This is the website only; the extension contains no analytics.

The site loads one script from Lemon Squeezy for its affiliate programme. If you arrived through an affiliate's link, it stores a cookie for 30 days so that a purchase can be credited to the person who referred you. It records no personal details. The extension itself contains no tracking of any kind.

Your rights

Because no data about you is held by us, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request: removing the extension removes everything it stored. For purchase records, licence keys or refunds, contact us and we will handle it through Lemon Squeezy.
